In
The Life We Are Given, George Leonard and Michael Murphy shed light on the Integrative Transformative Practice (ITP), a daily practice they co-created that integrates mind, body, soul, and heart. These pioneers of the human potential movement blended aikido, affirmations, yoga, meditation, guided imagery, and a healthy diet in one approach designed to help people make the most of their potential. At the heart of ITP is the kata, or series of movements, meditation, and mental/spiritual activities to be performed daily, and once weekly in a group setting for even greater benefit.
(I participated in weekly ITP classes to great benefit for two years—R.L.) In
The Life We Are Given, you’ll learn:
- We only live part of the life that we are given.
- Mastery is practice and staying on the path.
- The body is a great window into our mind, soul, and heart.
- Resistance to change is greatest when change is imminent.
